Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning

In order to provide valuable preparation for the senior schools’ entrance examinations at 11+, and to enhance pupils’ reasoning and deductive skills generally, Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning is taught for one single lesson a week in Year 5, and in the Autumn Term of Year 6.
In Year 5, using a step-by-step approach with the CGP Activity Book ages 9-10 in Verbal Reasoning, and the CGP Practice Book ages 9-10 Non-Verbal Reasoning, pupils learn all the different types of questions and how to solve them successfully.
In Year 6, lessons provide more practice and strategies for tackling each question type, whilst reinforcing core skills and increasing the speed at which pupils can answer questions. ‘Atom Learning’ is used throughout the lessons in class.
