Drama at The Manor covers all of the year groups, from Pre-Nursery up to Year 6.
In the Pre-Prep from Pre-Nursery to Year 2, Drama forms part of the English Curriculum and is linked to themes and topics including the Creative Curriculum in Year 1 and 2.
Right from the start of their education, the children are able to explore role-play areas and make sense of the world around them. They are encouraged to create their own small world scenarios with resources in their environment as well as their own role-play inside and outside the classroom.
Children explore stories and speaking and listening activities through a range of opportunities including helicopter stories and storytelling sessions. During the course of the year the children have the opportunity to take part in Drama activities within the English scheme of work, experience Drama4All workshops and join in with a visiting Pantomime. They will also take part in performances of their own such as Poetry performance, Assemblies and Year Group plays.
