The Manor has a wonderfully spacious, purpose built Nursery which children can join from the September after they turn 3 years old. Our Nursery is a vibrant and busy setting which acts as a happy and secure stepping stone for each child’s future in school. It has its own self-contained outside play area and, being located in the centre of the site, it really is in the heart of the school community. Nursery children often join in with whole school events, including weekly assemblies.
We know that starting nursery can be a daunting prospect (for children and parents!) with so many things to get used to; new places, new faces, new routines and new challenges. The Nursery team, composed of both qualified and experienced teachers and teaching assistants, will support both you and your child through this transition. Care and attention is given to ensure the well-being and happiness of each child.
The day offers a balance of structure and active learning to help your child get used to the routine of school while having plenty of opportunities to explore and learn through play. As well as some group times, children will have the opportunity to work individually or in small adult-led group activities as well as plenty of independent learning opportunities.
The children are offered specialist sessions including Music, PE, Library time and a weekly visit to our Forest School.
The Nursery children regularly meet with the Reception children for celebrations and activities. In the Summer Term, they will make regular visits to the Reception classrooms to help ensure their transition up through the school is as seamless as possible.
A healthy lunch, snacks and milk are provided every day.
