The warmest of welcomes to The Manor Prep, our very special corner of Oxfordshire where boys and girls aged 2-11 experience the most magical childhood. I regularly have to pinch myself to check that I really am part of such a wonderful community where every individual puts our aims of Challenge, Cherish and Inspire at the very heart of what they do.
Head’s Welcome
Steadfast in our commitment to valuing, knowing and celebrating every child as an individual, we look forward to continued growth, success and purpose at The Manor as we celebrate 120 years of the school. We hold dear our foundation of being a thriving, co-educational day school built on strong values; central to this is that education is about growing as a person in the most holistic sense.
By cherishing hearts, we give children in our Manor family the confidence to take risks and embrace opportunity, inspired by the world around them and ready for challenge, developing a lifelong love of learning. Crucially, and quite uniquely, this is all within a grounded, down-to-earth community that benefits from all the very many advantages of an independent education without any of the trappings of perceived elitism or sense of entitlement.
This is a community that embraces difference and celebrates diversity, a rich and elaborate tapestry of life. This is all wrapped in a great deal of fun, helping the children in our care make memories to last a lifetime with the confidence and space to be their best. Whilst the storms of the independent sector circle us, we take great pride in navigating the choppy waters of VAT, increased National Insurance contributions and other staff pay costs, loss of Business Rates Relief and a declining birth rate astutely with great consideration, proactivity and confidence. Despite these challenges, we are thriving. Fortunate to have the most remarkable passion and calibre of our staff, support and commitment of our parent community, and prudent business management and strategic vision of our executive and governors, we have the people needed to succeed.
Most importantly, though, we have a wonderful community of children, inspiring us every day to do our very best for them, giving them the foundation to do great things in the future.
