The Manor Preparatory School is very proud to work in partnership with Wootton St. Peter’s CE Primary School.
The link between the two schools was forged in May 2017 and since then various activities and schemes have brought pupils and staff together; an Athletics Afternoon, a Singing Day and a visit from author, Robin Stevens, to name just a few.
This term, following the success of our shared Cookery lesson initiative last year, pupils from Year 2 at Wootton School are joining weekly Cookery lessons in the Food Technology Room at The Manor. They will be rustling up dishes such as fresh fruit salad, scones and pizza; the children will not only cook together but they will taste and share their creations. All Year 2 pupils from Wootton School will have the opportunity to take part over the coming weeks. These lessons provide a great opportunity for pupils from both schools to get to know each other, develop their cookery skills and, of course, a love of good food!
Future collaboration ideas include Drama workshops, Sports projects and sharing best practice between teaching staff.
Alastair Thomas, Headmaster at The Manor, says; “We believe that there are many enrichment opportunities for all pupils in working together and we are looking forward to developing the relationship between our schools in the future.”
Wootton Headmaster, Charlie Pitt adds; “We are so pleased to be working in partnership with The Manor. Our pupils have loved having the opportunity to cook such delicious food and learn so much about food technology. We are very much looking forward to taking part in even more activities with the pupils and staff at The Manor. There are exciting times ahead! ”
