Welcome to our school

Our beautiful Georgian Manor House sits in the centre of a nine acre site on the outskirts of historic Abingdon-on-Thames, within easy reach of the outstanding transport links offered by Oxford and Didcot.

We are a truly independent co-educational day school that welcomes boys and girls aged 2-11; challenging, cherishing and inspiring every child, in a wonderfully down-to-earth community, to give them the best possible start. Here at The Manor we focus on offering boundless opportunities in a warm, friendly and safe setting so that our children are excited by their learning and inspired to excel.

Founded in 1907, the school has a long history but, far more important than that, we have a forward-thinking philosophy with the bright futures of our pupils at the heart of everything we do.

We welcome new children into all year groups across the school, where we have space, and offer a flexible and accommodating admissions process designed to make life as straight-forward as possible for busy families. So whether you are interested in our Pre-Nursery or Nursery (ages 2-4 years), a Reception start, or a change of setting into Year 1, Year 2 or Prep (Years 3-6), your Manor journey starts here.

The Manor is a wonderful school that seems to have got the balance just right; I cannot fault it… positive, caring, encouraging staff, great facilities, a manageable, challenging, age-appropriate workload adapted to meet each pupil’s individual needs, a good balance of academics and extra curricular content that engages the children…

Since joining The Manor a year ago, in Year 3, our son’s academic performance has improved significantly and, with this, his confidence and self belief. The school has been incredibly good at focussing on the needs of the individual. Staff are approachable and dedicated and the children welcoming and inclusive.

The Manor has provided an amazing environment for our child, right from Pre-Nursery to Year 6. In this time we have grown close to the school – its staff and parents. From first being shown around The Manor at an Open Day over 10 years ago, we have not considered any other place … We will certainly miss The Manor when it is time to move on.
